Understanding Self-Harm
Self-harm is a coping mechanism some people use to deal with overwhelming emotions. It can take many forms — and it's not about attention-seeking. It's a sign of deep pain, and you deserve support, not shame.
Why It Happens
Some people self-harm to feel something, release emotional pain, punish themselves, or regain a sense of control. It may offer short-term relief, but it doesn't heal the underlying wounds — and can be replaced with safer coping strategies.
