What Is Grief?
Grief is a natural emotional response to loss. It can stem from the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, loss of health, or other life changes. Grief is complex, deeply personal, and never looks the same for any two people.
Common Reactions
- Sadness, anger, confusion, guilt, numbness
- Changes in sleep, appetite, or concentration
- Waves of emotion that come and go unpredictably
Stages of Grief
Though everyone experiences grief differently, some go through stages such as:
- Denial
- Anger
- Bargaining
- Depression
- Acceptance
These stages are not linear, and you may revisit them over time.
“There is no right way to grieve. There is only your way.”
